I’m sorry, but I enjoy technology, and although I do not consider myself an expert, I am not intimidated to tackle it either. Thus, when my daughter and I started designing cookie sets to sell as a means to raise funds for charity, … Continue reading →
I purchased an Optex Portable Photo Studio & Lighting Kit at a Henry’s Camera outlet in Nova Scotia, Canada, for $129.00 CND + tax (February 2015), for the purpose of improving my cookie photography. We are having a “real” winter in Nova Scotia this year, with one snow storm after another, and continuously cloudy days. As well, much of my cookie activity tends to occur in the evening, and my lovely house does not have the greatest of lighting. I was in a rush (as usual), and it was dark outside Continue reading →
There have been a few babies born in my neighborhood so far this year, and there are two more arriving soon. When I was planning a “Congratulations” cookie set for one family this spring, I came across an inspiration stick person cookie on Pinterest made by Flour Box Bakery. I thought it was adorable, and wanted to use the idea. I do not own a Kopy Kake, although I was toying with the idea of investing in one to “advance” my hobby skills. However, with tax and shipping, it would be over $300.00 CDN. Hmmmm…. Then I read about an iPad app called Camera Lucida, which only cost $4.99! The app was originally designed for artists, but is also used by cookiers Continue reading →
